Dorkinian’s Football Club
Dorkinians Football Club is a club REAL Technical Solutions has been associated with since our inception. Our Managing Director has played for them for over 35 years and been involved in the club at most levels. He is now coaching his son at Dorkinians and hoping he will also have a long career at Pixham Lane, well as long as the Premiership doesn’t come calling!
Dorkinians are a family club steeped in history, success and have long been part of the local community. The club currently has 8 adult teams playing on a Saturday at varying levels of the Amateur Football Combination league – one of the biggest football leagues in the world, with around 75 clubs and over 200 teams regularly playing on a Saturday afternoon.
They also have 2 veterans teams (over 35’s), but most impressive of all is the youth teams set up. With around 40 children’s teams starting with coaching sessions for under 5’s and 6’s, then moving into actual teams and match play at under 7, going up to under 18’s.
Not bad for a club solely ran by volunteers, which includes mums, dads, players and the lovely people in the local community.
Dorkinians also run lots of community events such as beer festivals, quiz nights, lots of charity events and the newest edition to the social calendar is their Halloween fire work display and party, which has seen well over 1500 people attend two years running, many making an effort to come in fancy dress – this is certainly an event not to be missed and there is even a kids disco – Dorkinians also work with local businesses, such as ours, to get them involved with sponsorship, support and active participation in these events, plus a lot of the players come from local businesses.
