SOC Architect – Worthing/Hybrid £750 per day Outside IR35 – 6 months rolling – Worthing/Hybrid Working Sector: Utilities/Water/Critical Infrastructure About the SOC Architect role: We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Security Operations Centre (SOC) Architect to join our cybersecurity team and lead the design and evolution of our SOC capabilities. As a key figure in our security transformation journey, you will be responsible for architecting a resilient, scalable, and intelligent SOC tailored to the unique challenges of the water and utilities sector. This is a pivotal role in safeguarding critical infrastructure, ensuring operational continuity, and protecting customer data across our digital estate. Key Responsibilities for the SOC Architect position: Design and implement the architecture of a modern SOC, including SIEM, SOAR, threat intelligence, and incident response capabilities. Collaborate with IT, OT, and cybersecurity teams to ensure seamless integration of SOC tools across enterprise and industrial environments. Define SOC operating models, processes, and KPIs aligned with regulatory and business requirements. Lead the selection and deployment of SOC technologies, ensuring scalability and future-proofing. Develop threat detection use cases and playbooks tailored to the utilities sector. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to SOC analysts and engineers. Ensure compliance with NIS2, ISO 27001, and other relevant standards. Engage with external partners, MSSPs, and threat intelligence providers. Requirements for the SOC Architect position: Proven experience as a SOC Architect or similar role in a critical infrastructure or regulated industry. Deep understanding of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, threat intelligence platforms, and cloud security. Familiarity with OT/ICS environments and their unique security challenges. Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (eg, MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, CIS). Experience with regulatory compliance in the utilities or water sector. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Relevant certifications (eg, CISSP, GIAC, Azure/AWS Security, SABSA) are highly desirable.
