Governance Manager – GRC & Identity Management Worthing, West Sussex – Hybrid Working Available/6 months rolling/£400 – £500 Outside IR35 Sector: Utilities/Water/Critical Infrastructure About the Governance Manager – GRC & Identity Management position: We are seeking a proactive and experienced Governance Manager to lead and enhance our Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) capabilities across two major transformation programmes. This role is critical in ensuring robust identity and access management, multi-factor authentication (MFA) controls, and regulatory compliance within a complex and evolving digital landscape. You will work closely with programme teams, cybersecurity, IT, and business stakeholders to embed governance frameworks that support secure and compliant operations across both enterprise and operational technology environments. Key Responsibilities for the Governance Manager – GRC & Identity Management position: Develop and maintain GRC frameworks aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements (eg, NIS2, ISO 27001). Lead governance activities across two large programmes, ensuring consistent risk management and compliance practices. Oversee identity and access management (IAM) strategies, including MFA implementation and life cycle governance. Collaborate with cybersecurity and IT teams to ensure secure authentication and access controls. Monitor and report on compliance, risk posture, and governance KPIs to senior stakeholders. Support audit readiness and respond to internal and external audit requirements. Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in governance practices. Provide guidance and training to programme teams on GRC policies and procedures. Requirements for the Governance Manager – GRC & Identity Management position: Proven experience in governance, risk, and compliance within a regulated industry, ideally utilities or critical infrastructure. Strong understanding of identity management, MFA, and access control technologies. Experience working across large-scale programmes or transformation initiatives. Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory standards (eg, NIST, ISO, GDPR, NIS2). Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Relevant certifications (eg, CISM, CRISC, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, CISSP) are highly desirable.
