A leading global financial services company seek an experienced Senior Citrix Engineer to work within a project and implementation orientated role, ensuring global and regional projects are implemented to the highest technical standards.
Core experience required for the Senior Citrix Engineer position:
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working with Citrix and the full suite of Citrix products.
- Expert at supporting, installing and modifying all aspects within the XenDesktop 7.x technology stack.
- Good understanding of provisioning and updating non-persistent VDI/HSD systems via Machine Creation Services.
- Good understanding of the OSI model and typical networking practices, both from a physical and virtual perspective.
- Good understanding of Active Directory Services including DHCP, DNS, GPOs across a multi domain environment.
- Good knowledge of NetScalers, GSLB and integration into 3rd party solutions such as Microsoft MFA technologies.
- Expert understanding of Server 2016 and Windows 10 within the Flexcast Model.
- Demonstrable experience of working for a large enterprise, familiarity with IT frameworks such as ITIL. An understanding of the advantage for Change and Incident Management processes to the organisation.
- Knowledge of cloud-based products, such as Office 365 and integration points into Citrix.
- Experience of integrating applications with Citrix XenDesktop 7.x.
- Ability to identify areas of improvement within the Citrix environment and implement required solutions.
Responsibilities required for the Senior Citrix Engineer position:
- Able to technically lead major projects, making decisions, liaising with both project management and business line management
- Focus on project work including Mergers and Acquisitions, implementing and integrating new Citrix technologies and updating existing Citrix technologies used within the business.
- Working with global teams and architects to implement and adhere to global standards.
- Monitoring and maintenance of the virtual server infrastructure across the Citrix ecosystem.
- Working with 3rd party suppliers to implement their products where relevant with the companies systems.
- Working with business leaders to implement new solutions.
- Leading major Incident and Problems to resolution.
- Provide third level support and mentoring to the IT Service Desk team and senior level support to other global IT teams.
- Follow ITIL and Service Management Processes such as Incident, Problem and Change management processes.
- Able to collaborate with all Regional and Global teams, delegating work where relevant to other members of the team.
- To identify, analyse and propose resolutions to “Known Errors” of the infrastructure as part of proactive problem management.
- To ensure the companies infrastructure performance, integrity, availability and security is never compromised.
- Partaking in the planning and testing of the Disaster Recovery environment.
Person Specification required for the Citrix Engineer position:
